Last winter I was introduced to a friend’s amazing antique jigsaw puzzle collection. The different shapes, the pieces of things and how they fit or didn’t fit together stuck in my head. I didn’t know then what a rich metaphor it would become for the myriad ways we try to connect. At this time I think of the many contradictions we are facing, how we are struggling with complex issues that are deeply divisive while being inextricably linked by the unprecedented circumstances of the pandemic.
