Alesha Washington is the Vice President of Government Advocacy for the Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP). As a part of one of the largest chambers of commerce in the country, Alesha serves as the lead researcher, advocate and educator regarding local and state government issues impacting the Northeast Ohio business community.
Prior to joining GCP, Alesha was the Senior Director of Advocacy, Policy and Research for Cleveland Neighborhood Progress. In her role, she created the organization’s first public policy agenda for the community development system. Alesha has also served as the Director of Executive Administration and Government Relations for The Centers for Families and Children. There she was responsible for developing and executing the organization’s government relations strategies at the local, state and federal level as well as partnering with the President & CEO on board governance and external relations.
Alesha’s civic involvement includes serving on the boards of the Cleveland Public Library and the Center for Community Solutions. She is a 2015 American Marshall Fellow of the German Marshall Fund of the United States, a 2013 inductee to Kaleidoscope Magazine’s 40/40 Club, and has twice been recognized by the Cleveland 20/30 Club and Inside Business Magazine for the “Top 25 Under 35” Mover and Shaker Award.
