August A. Napoli, Jr., is Deputy Director and Chief Advancement Officer for the Cleveland Museum of Art, where he is responsible for providing innovative leadership and strategic vision for all aspects of the museum’s fundraising activities and the development of strong constituent relationships in both the public and private sector. A senior leader there since 2010, he oversees a museum division that includes not only fundraising, but visitor experience, communications and marketing, legislative relations and community engagement, through which he helps ensure the museum’s continuing role as the city’s leading cultural institution.
Augie has a distinguished career and proven track record leading both philanthropic and organizational transformations at a variety of institutions, from arts and culture and healthcare, to higher education and social service. He has held executive positions at a number of large Northeast Ohio institutions, including the Cleveland Clinic and the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Foundation, and has helped to raise well over $500 million for the organizations he has served.
Active in a number of organizations throughout Cleveland and beyond, he is immediate past president of the national organization AMDA (Art Museum Development Association), and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Council on World Affairs; Board of Trustees of One Community; Board of Trustees of The Temple-Tifereth Israel, and several more.
